Washington Redskins Safety Sean Taylor is Shot

I'm not sure what fantasy implications this will have, but Washington Redskins Safety Sean Taylor was shot in the leg according to Fox News. Obviously, this affects you more if you play individual defensive players versus a team defense. Nonetheless, the Washington Redskins secondary has been pretty solid all year. Taylor was been a key contributor from a fantasy standpoint during week 6. However, he hasn't been much of a factor since then.

Just Another Lame Duck Fantasy Sports Blog

I know my blog is a little blah at this point. However, my goal is to provide more quantitative information down the road (i.e. next season). I will make a point to release fantasy draft information and weekly player rankings as next year approaches. Unfortunately, we are nearing the end of the fantasy football season for 2007-08 and I'm trying to make a push for the play-offs. Therefore, stay-tuned and Get Yo Pop Tarts Ready!

Week 11 Results.

I'm sorry for posting these result a little late, but I was busy last week with work and the Thanksgiving holiday. However, I haven't forgot about the few people actually checking out my blog.

Unfortunately, I loss again Week 11 by a score of 155-139. My receiving corp continues to be my weak link. However, I remain optimistic since my losses are a result of playing the wrong receivers, not talent.

Week 12 will be an important match-up. I am currently in second place in my league. My team is inferior to the number one team, but I know that any fantasy team can beat another on any given week. A win in week 12 should secure a play-off position. My league allows six teams to go to the play-offs. Teams in 1st and 2nd place get an automatic BYE during the first round. Therefore, my goal is to remain number in second place right now. Everything starts over in the play-offs.

Week 10 Results

I hate to say it, but I blew it Week 10. My team lost by a score of 161-118. Unfortunately, Palmer, Gates and Addai didn't come through very strong for me. Additionally, I made the mistake of playing Aaron Moorehead over Chris Henry. I thought Moorehead would have been targeted more than Henry so I played him. I am in a PPR (Point Per Reception) league. The play made sense to me from a logical standpoint. However, I feel that I learned a good lesson. Never use an unproven receiver over a proven receiver!

Fortunately, I'm still #2 in my league. I'm going to play Carson Palmer (QB), Dwayne Bowe, Chris Henry, and Deion Branch (WR's), Reggies Bush and Joseph Addai (RB's), Antonio Gates (TE), Mason Crosby (K) and Seattle (Def).

That will leave me with Lee Evans, and Jericho Cotchery as my two WR's on the bench. However, I am pondering whether to play them or not. Feel free to leave me some advice about who to play in my receiving corp. for week 11 if you want. I'm hoping to pull off a win this week. It should help me clinch a playoff spot if I do.

Week 9 Results

I managed to pull out another win week 9 of the 2007-08 NFL season. I beat the opposing team convincingly by a score of 211 to 137. Also, I currently remain number two in my league. However, much work remains ahead as I face the number one team in my league this week.

I currently have Joseph Addai and Reggie Bush as my starting Running Backs but picked up Justin Fargas as insurance. I was going to grab Priest Holmes, but I feel he will only be a short-term solution for several reasons. First, I expect Priest Holmes and Kolby Smith to share carries. Second, I feel Larry Johnson will only be out a week or two. Finally, starting Running backs are tough to come by this time of the year and Fargas is having his best year.

I intend to play Seattle's defense over San Diego's. The Seattle Seahawks have a much better match-up going against the woeful San Francisco 49ers. Also, I picked up Buffalo Bills kicker, Rian Lindell. The Miami Dolphins are currently giving up some of the most points to kickers.

I hope some of these moves really help me out this weekend. Cross your fingers!

Week 9 Predictions - Always Check Multiple Sources

Here is a website to check out if you are looking for week 9 NFL fantasy football player predictions: Get Sports Info

I feel the information at Get Sports Info is invaluable. I've questioned some of the rankings before but they have proved to be right week after week. The featured analyst, Dan Clasgens, definitely knows his stuff. As always though, I recomment double checking predictions by reviewing multiple sources. I never set my roster accordingly after reviewing just one source for information. I hope this helps.
